During the Malt project meeting that took place in Leeds (UK) from the 6th to the 14th June 2009, in which we piloted a CPD (Constinuing Professional Development) course for teachers on motivating adult learners, project partners had to find out a solution about how to accreditate the couse at an European level.
Our first thinking was to follow the ECDL example but after a research about "how to do it" we discovered that National rules are sometimes very strong and different from country to country so that it was not possible to simply ask to an european umbrella institution to help us on this subject.
National lows are stopping every effort to rally be European especially from the educational point of view. Teachers competences are not recognize from country to country as well as students degrees. So that it is very difficult for a teacher to work abroad using her/his knowledge as well as for a student that finalize some kind of degree to work in another country...apart from some specific degrees but it is not the case of teachers.
If someone knew how to receive an european course accreditation or how it is possible to have the personal competences recognize around Europe is invited to participate to the blog or add comments on this subject.
The question is are we in Europeans?
